Our Story<\/h2>\n

In 1895, Peter Cameron Scott had a vision for Christian mission in Africa: to reach the continent’s unreached peopl<\/span>es with the gospel.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

His bold plan was to establish a series of mission stations, reaching from the east coast of the continent to the interior’s Lake Chad. His vision set the course for AIM for the next 130 years – and counting!<\/div>\n

In 1908 the first Australian member of the Africa Inland Mission arrived in Kenya. In 1916 the Australian Council of AIM was organised and a short time later a sending office in Sydney was extablished.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Over the years many missionaries from Australia, New Zealand and Asia have played an important role in AIM in taking the gospel to Africa.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Today AIM is the largest interdenominational mission agency focused exclusively on working with Africans.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

We serve in over 20 African nations. <\/span>Our outreach also extends to Africans living globally, outside the African continent. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our missionaries serve in teams within African communities. <\/span><\/p>\n

Some are involved in direct gospel work across the continent and globally. Some serve in creative access locations, where their professional skills give them access to communities where missionaries are not officially welcome.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wherever we serve, we follow Jesus\u2019 example: to walk in humility, embrace learner attitudes, and live as belongers in our communities.<\/span>All for the sake of the gospel, and the precious people God is calling into His kingdom.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Our sufficiency, hope, and ministry flow from our relationship with Christ. We serve by His grace and strength and submit to His will. CHURCH CONNECTIONS <\/strong>We are sent by churches (Acts 13:1-3) and whenever possible, minister to and through churches. Our Story In 1895, Peter Cameron Scott had a vision for Christian mission in Africa: to reach the continent’s unreached peoples with the gospel. His bold plan was to establish a series of mission stations, reaching from the east coast of the continent to the interior’s Lake Chad. His vision set the course for AIM for the next 130 years – and counting! In 1908 the first Australian member of the Africa Inland Mission arrived in Kenya.
