Since 1991, AIM and Wycliffe Bible Translators International (WBTI), have worked cooperatively to provide counseling and support services for missionaries at Tumaini Counseling Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.<\/p>\n

Tumaini is a Swahili word meaning \u2018hope\u2019. Tumaini Counseling Centers serve the members of AIM, WBTI, SIL and also missionaries from over 160 like-minded agencies throughout Africa. Their mission is to provide preventative and restorative mental health services and pastoral care, in order to enhance missionary resilience and fruitfulness.<\/p>\n

Have you got a minimum of three years professional experience that you could use on the mission field?<\/p>\n

Could you walk this path alongside those who need your support?<\/p>\n

We\u2019re looking for deeply committed professionals who can integrate their Christian faith with their counseling practice. The goal will be to strengthen missionaries on the path that God has called them.<\/p>\n

We need people to provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment, psychological or psychotherapeutic evaluations and treatment, and people who can assist with and lead workshops and seminars on related issues.<\/p>\n

It would be great if you have previous missions experience, including cross cultural living and ministry, and have worked in a team context. It would also be good if you have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team, of working with children and youth, and of distance counseling.<\/p>\n

Required: Sufficient experience to provide psychiatric care to adults with a broad range of issues without supervision.
Fully qualified medical practitioner with specialty in Adult\/General Psychiatry using a variety of modalities.
Desired: Training in managing youth and\/or children. Experience with Youth or Children; experience in using a wide variety of modalities; living and working in a cross-cultural setting; experience in long distance counseling (i.e. Video or e-mail); experience working in a team context (preferably multi-cultural); experience teaching and leading workshops.<\/p>\n

Required: PsyD or PHD or equivalent licensure with 500 Counseling hours and 50 hours of supervision.

Required: MFT, MSTW or MA in Counseling or equivalent licensure; 1000 counseling hours and 50 hours of supervision.
