Use your gap year to live among an unreached people group and serve along side a strong team shining in the darkness. Gain training and experience for greater effectiveness in future ministry through an intentional mentoring program and curriculum. Previous ESL training or experience is not required.<\/p>\n

This opportunity is developed as a gap year \u2013 October\/November to May\/June, where volunteers can expect the following:<\/p>\n

  • Participate in one of the team\u2019s local ministries: Teaching \u201cconversational English\u201d to local adults or older students (high school or university).<\/li>\n
  • Be a student \u2013 A selection of material will survey many of the issues our full-term teams study \u2013 culture, local religion, ministry practice and strategy. Beyond this, you will be an active student of local language.<\/li>\n
  • Be mentored through curriculum and life on the Islands by senior workers. This will have elements of 1 on 1 coaching and incorporation into a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

This opportunity is developed as a gap year \u2013 October\/November to May\/June, where volunteers can expect the following: Participate in one of the team\u2019s local ministries: Teaching \u201cconversational English\u201d to local adults or older students (high school or university). Be a student \u2013 A selection of material will survey many of the issues our full-term teams study \u2013 culture, local religion, ministry practice and strategy. Beyond this, you will be an active student of local language. Be mentored through curriculum and life on the Islands by senior workers. This will have elements of 1 on 1 coaching and incorporation into a team.
