How to add the eBooks to your phone, tablet, or computer

The simplest way to add a book to your Kindle library is to email the book to your Kindle device. This works with the Kindle and (sometimes) with the Kindle Apps on an Android or Apple device. Go to the settings of your Kindle device or app and look for the Kindle email address. You can also find this email address on the Kindle setup page on the Amazon.com website. The page is called, “Manage Your Kindle.” There you will find a list of email addresses for each of your Kindle devices. Once you identify the email address you wish to use, log in to your email account, compose an email to the Kindle email address, attach the MOBI file to the email, and then send the email. It may take a little time, but before long, you will see the book appear in your Kindle library.
Send the EPUB file to your iPhone or iPad via email. Tap the attachment icon to download it to your device, and you’ll see the icon turn into an iBooks one. Tap and hold on the file and an “Open in iBooks” will pop up. Tap that, and your iPad or iPhone will open iBooks and then open the epub file.
Lithium is an EPUB reader built on simplicity, featuring automatic book detection. It’s fast and Ad-free. Download the App from GooglePlay and install it on your device. Then send the EPUB file to your device and save it locally. (You can send the file via email, file transfer, or even dropbox.) Once saved locally, Lithium will automatically detect the new book and add it to your library.
Read the books on either the Kindle App or iBooks App for Desktop and Laptop computers. The Kindle App is available for both Macs and PCs. Download the MOBI file and double click to open in the Kindle App. If you have a Mac, iBooks is already installed and will read the EPUB file. Simply download and double-click to open in iBooks.

Found an error? Converting these older texts to an eBook is a lengthy process, which often begins with cutting up a physical book and scanning it.
