South Sudan Discipleship Team
Outreach and church planting, TE and Discipleship, Youth ministry, Agriculture and community development, Medical ministries
This team will train and disciple local church leaders in various forms of ministry, equipping them to reach out to the communities around them where there is no gospel ministry. Ultimately we hope these leaders will also catch a vision for unreached peoples throughout South Sudan. We hope to see a team comprised of families, couples, and singles actively supporting each other as we serve together. Team members will be committed to either learning the mother tongue of the Otuho, or the trade language of Juba Arabic depending on the members ministry focus.
Jordan and Andrea Scotland will be the initial leaders of the team. They have years of experience ministering in the Torit area.
Possible platforms team members may consider as they seek to mobilize leadership training and discipleship in the church:
- Farming God’s Way
- Community health training (training leaders in CHE)
- Sunday School teacher training
- Youth leadership training
- Training and teaching church pastors, both urban and rural
- Vocational Training for church leaders
- Basic veterinary skills training for Church workers
- Adult literacy trainers training
- Outreach training.
While these platforms have tremendous potential for improving the lives of the Otuho, they will always remain secondary to our primary vision of evangelism, disciple making and church planting.
