Membership Invitation for Africa Inland Mission Ltd

History

Africa Inland Mission commenced in Kenya, Africa in 1895 to take the good news of Jesus Christ to those who had not yet heard, in the heart of Africa.

The organisation began in Australia in 1916, with a focus of assisting Australian and Asia-Pacific churches in fulfilling the Great Commission of Matthew 28:16-20. That is, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples, and teaching people how to follow Jesus. This is particularly among the people of Africa.

New Registration 

The organisation was previously registered in New South Wales as an incorporated association. In 2018 it transitioned to a Public Company Limited by Guarantee, Africa inland Mission Ltd. Africa Inland Mission Ltd. is a company limited by guarantee and registered as a charity in Australia. (A.C.N 626 156 732; A.B.N 76 948 116 145.) For charity status see www.acnc.gov.au

The board of this Australian company operates as the Asia-Pacific Mobilising Council of Africa Inland Mission. This includes oversight and cooperation with other registered entities in the Asia-Pacific including Africa Inland Mission International Hong Kong and Africa Inland Mission International New Zealand. The Asia-Pacific entities cooperates and participates with other similar entities around the world.

AIM in Australia and the Asia-Pacific continues to send workers to serve in Africa and among African people in the diaspora. We continue to encourage people to pray and support the ministry of taking the Gospel to Africa’s unreached people. Africa Inland Mission also demonstrates Christian love through some development and benevolent projects, complementing the focus above.

The company is inviting company membership applications from interested individuals and entities including churches, living in or based in Australia.

Applicants must support the Purpose and Statement of Faith of the organisation. These are also outlined in the Africa Inland Mission Ltd. Constitution 2018.

Membership Fees

The fees for 2024-25, including GST are as below. AIM will invoice existing and newly approved members for their membership fees.

Company membership is open to individual and churches in Australia. It is also opened to Australians serving as full-term or short-term members, staff, or retirees of Africa Inland Mission.

Church membership entitles the member church to one vote.

Applications are approved by the Board of Directors of Africa Inland Mission Ltd.

New members will receive an invoice for annual fees, following approval.
