Africa Inland Mission International has announced significant changes to its operation in New Zealand. AIM Asia-Pacific Director, Len Lesleighter said the current AIM New Zealand committee has discontinued operation.

Speaking in Auckland today, Mr Lesleighter said AIM remains keen to see a thriving AIM ministry in New Zealand supporting the worldwide mission effort of New Zealand churches. AIM Australia will assume an active role in supporting the ministry in New Zealand until it is possible to appoint New Zealand-based staff, or make other appropriate arrangements.

“We are keen to see more New Zealanders serve with AIM as we seek to share the gospel and make disciples of people in Africa. Our aim is to help establish Christ-centred churches among all African peoples.”

“We have an international team of more than 1000 workers in more than 22 countries in Africa.”

AIM in New Zealand is contactable through www.aimint.org/nz or by contacting Len Lesleighter on director.nz@aimint.net.

Mr Lesleighter said the Asia-Pacific Council was thankful to the many who have served on the New Zealand Committee since its commencement in 1976. These people have all made a valuable contribution to ministries in Africa.

Mr Lesleighter said AIM is keen to hear from people in New Zealand who are seeking to serve the Lord in Africa.
