Short Term Church Mission Teams

Northern Kenya Two-Week Mission Trip

Could your church be part of bringing the gospel to Africa’s unreached? We invite you to send a short-term team on mission to Northern Kenya, where an AIM indigenous outreach team is faithfully sharing Christ among those who have had little opportunity to hear the good news.

Opportunity Description

Your team will be welcomed as partners in ministry, working alongside local believers who have learnt to work and evangelise in a contextualised manner appropriate to the local population. Visiting teams will have the chance to get involved in gospel outreach, community life and mission support. Over two weeks, participants will grow in their understanding of cross-cultural ministry, deepen their faith, and return better equipped to serve Christ in their own communities.

 Value to Each Party

More than simply serving, your team will have the privilege of encouraging and being encouraged by those on the frontlines of gospel work. The existing ministry will benefit from the input and encouragement from expatriate Christians who are willing to lend support to the existing ministry. The expatriate Christians will benefit by experiencing first-hand ministry among the unreached of Africa in a remote location.

How will the team serve/what will it do

The team will join in existing ministry in church, school and the community. This might include involvement in things like a youth camp, sports ministry, school ministry, building, Bible teaching, and practical service. Specific opportunities will be determined when the timing of your trip is confirmed.

Team make up and size

Ideally, the team will consist of both males and females, above the age of 18, between 6-12 in total.  If children under 18 are taken they will be under the close supervision and care of their parents/guardians, as no child care provision is available.

Dates

The team can come in mid-March, mid-July or mid-October to experience when the school is running, or during holidays to run a youth camp.

Pre-field Orientation and Training

The AIM team in Australia will provide resources, and pre-field orientation and training, either online or based at your church. You will also be able to ask questions via email to the team in Northern Kenya.

Return Team Review

The AIM team in Australia will review the Mission Trip with your team either online or at your church within a month of your return.
