Long Term – Outreach workers, Kenya
We are looking for two outreach workers to join an existing team in reaching a specific community with the gospel and discipling believers. The Coastal Swahili and South Asian people groups remain isolated and largely unreached with the gospel. Ministries currently take place within a local library and coffee house in the ‘Old Town’ area of the city including: Bible clubs, drug and alcohol counselling, adult literacy, English language teaching, public health instruction and marriage counselling; also a craft venture. The team is open to adding new ministries that suit the skills of new team members.
Location:
‘Old Town’ area, Mombasa, Kenya
Experience (required & desired):
Required: Practical experience in discipleship – both receiving and providing
Desired: Two or more years in outreach ministry to those of another major world religion
Training & qualifications (required & desired):
Required: Bachelors Degree in Theology / Ministry, or a profession such as business, accounting, counselling, social work, or nursing.
Desired:Training in outreach to those from another major world religion; Study of another major world religion
Personal characteristics required:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, patient, compassionate and self-motivated. You will be a team player, humble and willing to live within local cultural norms. You will also be able to live in hot and humid conditions in a large city.
