Serving In Nairobi, Kenya

Darrel & Linda Mole are preparing to go to Nairobi, Kenya, to serve in an AIM member care role that aims to strengthen the wellbeing of missionaries, helping them to go the distance.

This will involve building relationships with missionaries – listening, encouraging, providing guidance and practical help, where needed. They will work with missionaries to foster a sense of community, fellowship, and unity that will enhance their daily lives and their walk with the Lord.

Without appropriate member and pastoral support, missionaries are more likely to struggle in their roles, leading to some not being able to return for subsequent terms. AIM is committed to provide the right support for missionaries, so they are able to thrive. Darrel & Linda’s role will play a key part in this.

As Christians, we believe we should use the gifts God gives us to serve Him. After graduating from Bible College, we explored opportunities to serve overseas, but the doors did not open. Now, we believe God has been opening doors for us to head to Nairobi to use our gifts and life experience to help encourage missionaries in their work for the Lord.

Darrel is a trained primary school teacher who is currently employed as a high school Special Religious Education (SRE) teacher and chaplain. At St Peter’s, he is a lay preacher and Bible study group leader.

Linda has training in office administration and has been teaching piano for 20 years. Through St Peter’s, Linda teaches SRE in primary schools and also serves at the church’s Breakfast Club and teaches in the church’s ESL ministry.

Darrel & Linda have also both enjoyed serving at church in the music ministry, and as part of the Indigenous ministry team.
