Serving In South Sudan

Marlene was called to serve the Lord in Africa in her twenties. Since then, Marlene has been blessed with many opportunities to serve. After a short time in Botswana, and then a year with AIM in Tanzania in 2010, the Lord finally led Marlene to South Sudan in December of 2013.

Marlene’s gifting and passion is teaching, and all things education related; especially helping people read the Word for themselves.

Marlene joined the Lopit TIMO team in the Lopit mountains of South Sudan in 2013. After eight years of serving amongst the Lopit people, in church planting and education development, Marlene moved to Torit where she led the 2022 Inbound Team.

Inbound teams are one-year onboarding and orientation programs for new AIM workers who have an intention to serve full-time in ministry. It is a wonderful way to help new members learn about life and ministry in a supported environment.

The Lord willing, Marlene will return to South Sudan in April 2025, to lead the Torit Vocational Inbound team from July 2025 to July 2026.
