Several media outlets have reported on the disaster that has struck Mayotte, off the East Coast of Africa, as a result of Cyclone Chido, which passed through on Saturday, 14th December.
The cyclone is considered the most violent the island has faced in nearly a century, and thousands of people have been affected by this catastrophe.
On Tuesday, 17th December, the French government announced the start of search operations for victims in the devastated and still unexplored areas of Mayotte. Efforts are also underway to restore water and electricity services, as well as provide food to the residents. Authorities fear the death toll could reach hundreds or even thousands.
AIM is committed to helping during this crisis, demonstrating the compassion of Jesus to the affected population. We hope to provide aid in areas where our missionaries and partners are working. To this end, we are asking for your help. AIM is joining in the efforts to help in this devastating situation, and we would like to invite you to participate by sending a special donation for this cause.
As Christmas approaches, a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, it is also a time when we have the privilege of sharing joy with friends, family and loved ones. Our invitation to you is to share the joy of Christ and express love through your help for those living in a time of hopelessness.
Christmas reminds us that God loved the world so much that He gave His most precious gift so that we might have life abundantly. So, help us bring some hope to those who have lost everything, so they may know that God cares and that through Christians around the world, He wants to express His love to each person affected by the cyclone.
Join us in helping AIM’s Mayotte Relief project by donating any amount.
