Long Term – Mental Health Professional, Kenya

AIM Care is looking for two professionals to provide psychological or psychotherapeutic evaluations and treatment for missionaries in Africa, prioritising AIM personnel. They will also assist and lead workshops and seminars on issues related to mental health and member care; and travel to personnel’s locations to provide mental health services.

Location:

Tumaini Counselling Centre, Nairobi, Kenya

Experience:

Required: 1000 clinical hours in a professional context; 50 hours’ supervision; sufficient experience to confidently assess and work therapeutically without ongoing supervision locally.

Desired: previous missions experience, including cross-cultural living and ministry; working in a multi-disciplinary team context; experience of a variety of therapeutic modalities; experience of working with children/youth; experience in distance counselling.

Training & qualifications:

Required: professional-level training in relevant mental health field, e.g. counselling, psychotherapy, marital and family therapy, or psychology, with licensure/ accreditation appropriate to the field of training.

Desired: training and experience in a variety of therapy modalities.
