Short Term – Youth Worker Marsabit Kenya
Goal: Helping the local church to digitize and update their curriculum to be used in Northern Kenya among various unreached people groups. Additionally there would be opportunities for teaching computer classes and working with local children. A pair of short termers will be desired. This assignment can be for a term of 6 -12 months.
Major Tasks
Scanning local VBS curriculum and making necessary changes.
Helping set up a computer training program (optional)
Helping set up English as second language program (optional)
Working with local youth through AIC Church

From 6 to 12 months
Experience Required:
Applicants need an undergraduate degree (or similar qualifications, professional certificates) for immigration purposes.
Experience in children or youth work in home church – with pastor’s recommendation.
Competent in use of word processing and general computer usage
Experience Desired:
One year or more in leadership role in youth or children’s ministry in home church or para-church organization
A certificate in children or youth or discipleship or Bible study program. Graphic Design background. Proficiency in computer work.
Personal Characteristics Required:
People-oriented, loves children and youth, self-starter, hard worker, able to live simply and willing to share accommodations with a ministry partner.

Housing:
To be rented. Possibly housed in the AIC Marsabit church compound. Housing depends on whether it is a couple or two single short termers and will be very basic.
