Alfa Mandava, Mozambique
Sofala Bible Institute, Beira, Mozambique Bachelor’s in Theology

“Peace of the Lord to all servants of God. My prayer is that every-one who has served the Lord with their goods and their money, to be blessed by the Almighty God.

It is a great blessing to be a student of IBS. I do not regret having decided to take the theology course years ago. Thank God, that He has touched your institution to help me with financial support to complete my studies. Thank you for this helping hand.

I feel like before I was a blind person, and now, through my studies I have a clearer understanding. I can already tell when something is wrong or right. Even in my church, I can discern some doctrinal mistakes, which I did not realize before.

Alfa Mandava

If I was not studying the Bible, I would not be able to positively influence the members of my church.

I would like to continue my studies in IBS and if possible one day, who knows, studying at the higher levels. I count on the help of the Holy Spirit and with your goodness to renew my scholarship for 2013.”

(Alfa is one of sixteen students receiving scholarship awards at the Sofala Bible Institute. This school was started by AIM missionaries 25 years ago. It is being used by God to place its graduates in a variety of settings to build and strengthen the Church in Mozambique.

Also, Alfa is one of the sixteen women who have received ATF Scholarships for this coming school year. Women are serving in a variety of ministries in the churches AIM has partnerships. They are leading congregations in children and women’s work. They are being used in counselling youth. Some are teaching in colleges and universities. Others are receiving training in social work so they can be used in showing Christ’s compassion to abused and neglected children.

Pray that there would be a continued and growing interest in the churches of Africa to utilize and train women, as well as men, in the work of the Lord.)
