John Kerim Fabiano, South Sudan
Scott Christian University, Machokos, Kenya Bachelor’s in Theology

Scott Christian University has greatly impacted my life in different ways. The courses have sharpened my understanding of Church ministry, and also because of its practical relevance within the Church in Africa.

Three courses I will not forget are Missions, which was the area of my concentration, Historical Theology, and African Christian Theology. These three courses not only compel me to understand how God is thriving even when times becomes difficult to share the Word, but they remind me to worship God in an African way for the gospel in Africa should be expressed in an African way. In Africa, the preaching of the Word must be contextualized to fit African way of understanding the Scriptures.

John Kerim Fabiano

While at Scott, I was ministering at AIC Plainsview in Nairobi for three years especially with the youth and young adults. I learned about the dynamic ministry the pastor can have, not only focusing on the pulpit.

Like Jesus in the Gospel of John 4:34, I will be only satisfied if I‘ll be doing the will of Him who called me to this ministry of teaching the Word and that the things I have heard to be entrusted to many qualified men and women able to teach others both in South Sudan and in Africa as 2 Tim 2:2 says. Therefore, I desire to see the church in South Sudan grow strong in worshiping the LORD as the only Saviour trans-forming their hearts for His ministry .Training and transformation of Church leaders is at the core of my calling as I seek God to help me accomplish it.

So pray for me that God’s will be accomplished through my calling as I also seek to continue advancing in theological training at a Distance mode of study. I have personally decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Theological studies after my Master of Arts in Theology is done in two years’ time if ATF funds are available.

Most sincerely, I thank the ATF AIM for their financial support towards my academic journey. May God receive glory through your generosity.”
