Appointment of Director of Communications and Strategic Resourcing

January 1, 2024

Dr. Dan Baetz, Executive Director, Africa Inland Mission Canada (AIM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Reverend Godfrey Thorogood to the position of Director of Communications and Strategic Resourcing. Godfrey previously served the organization as a consultant in Strategic Resourcing in the last quarter of 2023. In his introduction to the AIM team, Dr. Baetz complimented Godfrey for having demonstrated aptitude and excellence in both domains. “We are so thankful for his invaluable contribution during his onboarding”.

Godfrey immigrated to Canada from the United Kingdom at age four. He came to faith at age ten, after being introduced to Jesus Christ by several churches through their Sunday School ‘busing’ programs. He completed his seminary education and training at Central Baptist Seminary, graduating in 1982. He has served in a pastoral capacity in churches in seven towns and cities in the province of Ontario including the Metropolitan Bible Church in Ottawa. Godfrey has an acumen for leadership, particularly as it relates to the work of God. His experiences in church and denominational ministry have prepared him well for his role with AIM Canada. He has previously served in the role of Leadership Development Director for the Central Region of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist churches of Canada, and as Vice President of Ministry Partners and Internships at Heritage Bible College and Seminary in Cambridge, Ontario.

Godfrey is thrilled and thankful to be a part of the AIM Canada team. He values the vision and mission of AIM, and is looking forward to functioning in his role to see the vision and mission accomplished locally and globally. “Many persons in several churches went out of their way to help me come to know Jesus. Because of this, I know the importance of the Gospel being communicated to those who have not yet heard the Good News”.

Godfrey has been married to his wife Veronica for almost 40 years. They worship at Wallenstein Bible Chapel. They have 2 adult children, and a son in law who is married to their daughter.

Please join us in extending best wishes to Rev. Godfrey Thorogood as he fills this important position at Africa Inland Mission Canada.
