Short Term Opportunities to Serve

Farming Quest 2022 – Lesotho, 3 weeks

Maphutseng, Lesotho

20 February – 11 March 2022

Farming Quest is an opportunity for long & short term missionaries and church leaders in Africa and beyond to come together for 3 weeks to learn about Farming God’s Way – to learn how agriculture can be incorporated into mission and discipleship as a platform for church planting.

It is suited to those who have farming experience at the start of their assignments, or existing workers who want to develop their ministry further through agriculture. It is also an ideal opportunity for those wishing to learn how they can share the gospel with the unreached, disciple new believers and start planting churches in a relevant way.

Held on the Growing Nations demonstration farm in Lesotho, the founder of the project, Rev. August Basson, other members of the team and subject experts will teach the main principles of Farming God’s Way & Transformational Development. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in practical demonstrations, classroom teachings, share their own experiences and to meet local farmers to hear how their lives have been transformed.

What you will learn:

  • The Principles of Farming God’s Way.
  • How to teach others about Transformational Development.
  • Teaching through agricultural extension and resident student programs.
  • The benefits of cover crops and vegetable production.
  • How to train and equip those in your community and beyond.
  • How to use farming as a platform to establish a Church Planting Movement (CPM).
  • How Discovery Bible studies can be used as discipleship and church planting tools.
