THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION AND DISCIPLESHIP

Begun in July 2018, this team is open to members joining on a revolving basis, The Nyamwezi Outreach Team uses a wide range of ministry avenues to reach out to the Islamic Nyamwezi people, Tanzania’s second largest people group. This can include Conservation Agriculture and other Community Development ministries, teaching in government schools, children’s Bible clubs, Discovery Bible Studies, and teaching theology and equipping lay leaders.

New team members will focus heavily on learning Swahili in their first year of ministry, and continue to increase their language abilities as they serve.

Ultimately, the goal of this team is to bring the gospel to the unreached Nyamwezi people, and to disciple believers to be disciple makers.

Personal Characteristics and Qualifications

Team members must meet AIM’s standard membership requirements.

We envision a team with diverse skills to engage in the community’s felt needs, building relationships with the Nyamwezi and helping them understand they are without hope without Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for them on the cross for their sins.

We are looking for those who can connect with the Nyamwezi through short seminars on good farming practices and technologies (Farming God’s Way, animal husbandry, dairy, water development, and health issues ).The team is also seeking teachers to be involved in government schools to build relationships with Nyamwezi students and their families through direct teaching and after-school tuition.

There’s also a need for members who can teach theology and equip lay members and pastors to reach Muslims, as well as men and women  to lead children’s Bible clubs as an outreach and be involved in weekly Community Bible Study (CBS) classes for all ages as well as Sunday School classes.
